A towering painting by John Spears that combines the aesthetics of two major modern art movements. The first is seen in the background; an abstract color field-style layer of several different hazy shades reminiscent of a painting by Mark Rothko. Overlaid on top is a monumental grid, similar to the geometric style used by Piet Mondrian. This acrylic on canvas piece is signed and dated by the artist.
