Illuminated by the campfire, the Native Americans seated in front of the tipis watch the dancer put his spear into the fire as he moves from side to side. Covered in red and black body paint, the dancer performs a ritual done presumably in preparation for an upcoming raid on either a neighboring village or different cultural group.
