Lowell Blair Nesbitt's arrangement of lemons against a blue tablecloth is full of contrast and color. With light shining over the table and casting shadows across the cloth, the lemons are bathed in bright sunlight that brings out their brilliant yellow hue. There is a similar composition made by Andy Warhol during the same year. Warhol's piece is titled "Space Fruit: Lemons" and is a screenprint, reference FS II.196.
