Through the magenta and fuchsia haze of this piece by African American artist Alvin Carl Hollingsworth, several faces emerge. What appears at first to be a simple abstract painting eventually reveals the profiles of multiple figures, their heads all looking out from the central column in the composition. This oil and acrylic painting on canvas is nicely framed and signed in the lower right.
