Group by Propylaea is a gelatin silver print from On the Acropolis, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Tod Papageorge made on the Athenian Acropolis in the summers of 1983 and 1984. The image depicts a dense knot of tourists compressed into close contact — a woman leaning forward, an older bald man in sunglasses smiling, others pressing in from all sides — with the Acropolis plateau and restoration scaffolding visible behind them. Signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil on verso.
