Photographers and Columns is a gelatin silver print from On the Acropolis, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Tod Papageorge made on the Athenian Acropolis in the summers of 1983 and 1984. The image depicts a group of tourists among displaced column capitals and marble drums — a man gesturing toward a young boy, a woman perched atop a capital photographing with a compact camera, others wandering among the fragments beyond. Signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil on verso.
