The Parthenon, East Facade is a gelatin silver print from On the Acropolis, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Tod Papageorge made on the Athenian Acropolis in the summers of 1983 and 1984. The image depicts the west facade of the Parthenon with scaffolding climbing both flanks, workers maneuvering heavy timber beams in the foreground amid marble blocks and construction equipment, tourists observing from the right. Signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil on verso.
