Tourist Guide with Hat is a gelatin silver print from On the Acropolis, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Tod Papageorge made on the Athenian Acropolis in the summers of 1983 and 1984. The image depicts a man in white shorts and polo shirt adjusting a straw hat with one hand while standing before a cluster of tourists seated on ancient stone steps — among them a man cradling a small child and a young man in a black visor — more figures and a column drum visible in the hazy background. Signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil on verso.
