Ashkelon XIV is a C-print from the Ashkelon Portfolio, a series of 20 photographs by Stephen Shore (b. 1947) made at the ancient archaeological site of Ashkelon, Israel in 1994, printed at Laumont Photographics in 2006. The image presents a view of the ancient coastal city of Ashkelon in southern Israel, the fourteenth in Shore's twenty-part series — terrain, ruins, and coastal light composed in his precise black-and-white, completing the penultimate chapter of the portfolio's survey.
