Marc Chagall (Russian/French, 1887-1985), took a trip in 1931 to the Holy Land, which shook his perspective, spiritually and creatively. In 1960 he created Drawings from the Bible, consisting of 24 color lithographs illustrative carious scenes from the Bible. Cain and Abel were the first two sons of Adam and Eve, and they are portrayed here as they typically are, with Cain slaying Abel.
