Poppy and Yellow Irises is a chromogenic print from The Giverny Portfolio, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Stephen Shore made with an 8x10 view camera during three trips to Monet's gardens at Giverny in 1977, 1982, and 1983, and printed at Laumont Photographics by Kylie Wright under Shore's supervision. The image depicts a close view of an orange oriental poppy in full bloom at the edge of a gravel path, several more papery orange poppies and rounded buds rising behind it, a single purple iris among them, yellow wallflowers and iris leaves in the lower left, and the dense bristled foliage of poppy plants filling the background. Signed and dated on verso.
