The Parthenon, East Pediment is a gelatin silver print from On the Acropolis, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Tod Papageorge made on the Athenian Acropolis in the summers of 1983 and 1984. The image depicts the scaffolded northwest corner of the Parthenon at the left edge of the frame, its columns and cornice barely visible through the steel pipe latticework, a large billowing cumulus cloud filling the remainder of the composition against a flat grey sky. Signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil on verso.
