The Parthenon, West Facade is a gelatin silver print from On the Acropolis, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Tod Papageorge made on the Athenian Acropolis in the summers of 1983 and 1984. The image depicts the Parthenon's west colonnade viewed from close range and below, Doric columns rising from rough stone steps into the entablature above, restoration scaffolding visible through the intercolumniations against a partly cloudy sky. Signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil on verso.
