Robert Indiana (1928-2018), first envisaged this graphic version of the word "ART" in 1970 as a museum poster for an exhibition at the Princeton University Art Museum. He would continue to recreate this image, just as he did with the infamous LOVE. This print was conceived for Edition Domberger's "On the Bowery" portfolio, which paid homage to famous street in lower Manhattan.
