Ashkelon VII is a C-print from the Ashkelon Portfolio, a series of 20 photographs by Stephen Shore (b. 1947) made at the ancient archaeological site of Ashkelon, Israel in 1994, printed at Laumont Photographics in 2006. The image presents a view of the ancient coastal city of Ashkelon in southern Israel, the seventh in Shore's twenty-part survey of the site — ruins, ground, and sky composing a still, lucid image in the tradition of his American site work.
