This mixed media work by the artist Tim Yanke is a great example of abstract expressionism. Several colors are half blended together in the background and the foreground is covered with white and black squiggles and handwriting. Not meant to be representational or easily read, this piece instead focuses on the movement of the color and how it guides the viewer's eye around the composition.
