"Papaya Still Life" is an acrylic on canvas by Cuban artist Luis Riera (b. 1957), signed lower left. The work depicts an arrangement of tropical fruits — a halved papaya at center revealing a dotted interior, a large apple, and smaller fruits — rendered in richly textured impasto with pointillist passages in deep tones of red, green, teal, and gold against an earth-toned ground with a mosaic-like decorative border.
