Gallery Opening is an archival pigment print from Social Graces, a portfolio consisting of 15 photographs by Larry Fink documenting the social rituals of American life across lines of class and occasion. The image depicts a man in formal white-tie attire with a boutonniere in his lapel, holding a champagne glass, standing at a landing of a grand staircase in an opulent interior whose walls are covered with elaborate trompe l'oeil painted murals of classical columns, arches, and garden vistas, wall-mounted candelabras flanking him on either side.
