Tulips and Daisies is a chromogenic print from The Giverny Portfolio, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Stephen Shore made with an 8x10 view camera during three trips to Monet's gardens at Giverny in 1977, 1982, and 1983, and printed at Laumont Photographics by Kylie Wright under Shore's supervision. The image depicts a densely planted spring border of dark red-and-orange tulips rising above a carpet of small white and purple pansies, daisy-like bellis flowers in deep burgundy and white, and dark viola faces among the foliage — the whole composition filling the frame with close, overlapping color. Signed and dated on verso.
