"Cans Seurat" is a large-format pigmented inkjet print with Diasec by American artist Chris Jordan (b. 1963), dated 2007, edition AP 1/2. The work recreates Georges Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" composed of 106,000 individual aluminum cans -- representing the number consumed in the United States every 30 seconds -- visible as individual units on close inspection. Measures 59.5 x 90.75 inches; signed in pen on verso.
