"Magdalena Medio" is a screenprint on Arches by Colombian artist Sonia Gutierrez, from the Graficario de la Lucha Popular en Colombia -- a 1977 portfolio of 32 works by 32 Colombian artists aimed at bearing witness to popular struggle and effecting social change, with proceeds from sales supporting the Colombian Communist Party. The print depicts a woman seen from above lying face down, her hands and ankles bound by rope, wearing a blue blouse and floral skirt against a pale ground. Signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil.
