Parthenon Marbles is a gelatin silver print from On the Acropolis, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Tod Papageorge made on the Athenian Acropolis in the summers of 1983 and 1984. The image depicts two ancient marble sculptures — a headless male torso and a draped female figure — displayed together in a glass museum case, their surfaces worn and abraded, light entering through frosted windows set into the dark wall behind them. Signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil on verso.
