Orange Poppy is a chromogenic print from The Giverny Portfolio, a portfolio of 25 photographs by Stephen Shore (b. 1947) made with an 8x10 view camera during three trips to Monet's gardens at Giverny in 1977, 1982, and 1983, and printed at Laumont Photographics by Kylie Wright under Shore's supervision. The image depicts a single oriental poppy in vivid orange bloom at close range, its papery petals and dark center filling much of the frame, set against a ground of lush green foliage and stems. Signed and dated on verso.
