Crossing a shallow river, a red glossy carriage driven by two hired teamsters is led splashing through the water to evade the Native Americans rushing toward them from farther back on horseback. This tumultuous scene is reminiscent of Shannon Stirnweis's other works in which he depicts similar dramatic situations with astonishing emotion and movement.
